Encounter at Selby
This is Ron whom I met after he unsuccessfully attempted to become a member at their front desk. Apparently the current hysteria has reduced this, once responsive organization to require that all membership is handled online. Another bastion of normalcy relinquished in the name of safety. Germany used the phrase, "Für Ihre Sicherheit" as they disarmed their citizens in the 1930s, I can't help but notice the similarities.
On a brighter note, Ron was a real gentleman and a most pleasant acquaintance. I look forward to seeing him on future visits to the Selby.
